Obtain the ability to place glowstone dust! Not only they’re great for trails, they actually give out light!
CLIENT Installation (for players):
No dependencies are needed for this version, but you do still need to download Glowstone Wire CLIENT. Posted ImageReadme.txt doesn’t need to be copied.
Windows:
- 1. Go to %APPDATA%\.minecraft\bin\ and backup Minecraft.jar (copy it somewhere)
- 2. Open Minecraft.jar with your archiver and delete/rename the META-INF folder inside it.
- 3. Open up the Glowstone Wire Client zip with your archiver and drag all the files inside the zip into Minecraft.jar
Mac OS X:
- 1. Go to /Users/~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/bin/ (where ~ is your username) and backup Minecraft.jar (copy it somewhere)
- 2. Open Minecraft.jar with an archive program and delete the contents of the META-INF folder. Go back to the root (main directory) of the jar.
- DO NOT DELETE THE FOLDER ITSELF OR YOU WILL RECEIVE A BLACKSCREEN.
- 3. Open up the Glowstone Wire Client zip with your archiver and drag all the files inside the zip into Minecraft.jar
I don’t have personal experience with Linux, so this might not work…
Linux:
- 1. Go to ~/.minecraft/bin and backup Minecraft.jar (copy it somewhere)
- 2. Open Minecraft.jar with your archiver and delete/rename the META-INF folder inside.
- 3. Open up the Glowstone Wire Client zip with your archiver and drag all the files inside the zip into Minecraft.jar
SERVER Installation (for server owners):
No dependencies are needed for this version, but you do still need to download Glowstone Wire CLIENT. Posted ImageReadme.txt doesn’t need to be copied.
Note: Vanilla players CAN connect to your custom server, but will immediately crash while at least 1 glowstone wire block exists within any of their loaded chunks.
DO NOT DELETE/RENAME THE META-INF FOLDER OR YOUR SERVER WILL REFUSE TO START.
All Operating Systems:
- 1. Go to your server directory and backup minecraft-server.jar (copy it somewhere)
- 2. Open minecraft-server.jar with your archiver.
- 3. Open up the GlowstoneWire Server zip with your archiver and drag all the files inside the zip into minecraft-server.jar
