Crafted with the extreme powers of redstone and great builders. The obsidian Defenders map is a must have for any hard core minecrafters who are ready to try something unique. This map introduces new, and origional features such as, currency, and the use of the newest testificate traders feature that was released with the new 1.3.1 minecraft. Apart from brutally slaughtering each other in this amazing map, there is an objective the players must follow in order to succesfully carry out the “game” properly.
The players will be seperated into 2 teams; Red & Blue team. Players will decide their teams and then travel by minecraft down the color coded tunnels into their teams lobby. Beds are placed along the floor of the lobby so that the players spawn point will be set for the occasion, on which you will be killed. Once the players are ready, a switch must be pulled inside each of the lobbies to indicate that the teams are ready. Once both switches are flicked, 2 iron doors will open, and the players will sprint out of the lobby into the arena. outside of the doors, you will step on a pressure plate and be equpped with basic armor, 1 arrow, some steak, and a stone sword. Once the game has started, a diamond pickaxe will drop after 3 minutes, then 3 minutes after that untill the game ends. Obtaining the pick axe is assential. The aim is to break the opposite teams obsidian, located inside their base so you can stand on the pressure plate, destroy the oppsite teams spawn and win the game.
There are side objectives to make the game more fun, and enjoyable. Inside a jungle, located in the middle of the map, 2 capture points are hidden. Stand on the pressure plate marked with the same color as your team and wait for the redstone lamps to light up one by one. Be careful though, if the opposite team stands on their plate, the capturing will be paused until one person steps of the pressure plate. After you have captured the point, return to your base and find the market place. wait a while, and a few gold ingots will be dispensed. This is used for buying bows, potions and armor from the venders (testificates). You will also notice 1 redstone lamp should be lit up. This is another type of currency which can be used to open secret locations, such as the sewer, unlocking a secret vender who will sell you XP potions and a powerful bow.
Rules:
- No breaking of any blocks
- No killing the venders
- teams must be even, unless you think your a boss
- No flying
- No stealing from the dispensers
- Don’t break the opposite teams pressure plate

How to install Obsidian Defenders Map for Minecraft 1.3.1
- Download the zip
- Open the zip file and take out the world file
- Place the world file into your server folder, than delete your current world file, or put it somewhere else
- Open the server properties and change the “levelname=<name>” to the name of the new world file (must be identical)
- Run your server and have fun!
