The next item allows you to edit signs.  It’s called the Sign Edit Tool.  Right clicking a sign with it allows you to edit the text, and shift+right click allows you to rotate them.  No longer will you have to break the stick with some planks on top of it to turn the thing.  Here’s the recipe:

The advanced sign allows you to add up to 32 lines of text onto a sign.  You can also copy and paste text from other signs (both advanced and regular).  It’s not as amazing as some of the other items, but it could be useful in its place.  You can change normal signs into advanced signs by right clicking them with a book in the newer versions of the mod.  Recipe:

The painting canvas was one of the first items added into this mod.  You can make smaller pictures on these, rather than building a 16×16 square to make them.  Recipe:

The two paintbrushes allow you to paint on that canvas.  The recipes are simple, so I’ll just list them here:  A feather on top of a stick for a small tipped brush (paints one pixel at a time) and a piece of wool on top of a stick for the wider brush.  If you don’t color them you can use them as erasers.  To dye them put a dye into the crafting table with the brush.  You can see RGB values by holding shift and scrolling over the brush in your inventory.

Chess desks allow you to play chess in minecraft without the use of a texture pack.  They’re made like this:

Place them on top of any solid block and you can play it.  When broken it saves your game, and you can re-set it by placing it in a crafting table.  It also updates its world texture when you move pieces in the GUI.

Four variations of chests are added in this mod.  They’re made with four wood in the edges (not planks) and four planks in the corners.  There’s another chest, as well.  It can be upgraded to be private, unbreakable, and suck items up.

Improved Chest

All of the upgrades have similar recipes. The private upgrade is this:

The unbreaking upgrade is the same but with bedrock or obsidian in the middle.  The Collecting upgrade is made with  a vacuum rather than redstone.

The next item is the cannon, which shoots any item you put in it.  You can change the angle, direction, and power of it.  It’s crafted with three iron across the bottom, one in the middle, and one in the top left corner.

The enchant remover allows you to remove any enchantment from any item when placed in a crafting table with the enchanted item.  It’s a bit expensive, requiring a diamond and two gold, but I’m sure there’s a good use for it.

And we’re finally on the last item, which is the portable crafting table.  It opens up the actual crafting GUI when you right click while holding it.  Recipe:

It does require a crafting table to make, but I usually have a few hanging around anyway.  I like the texture, as well.
