Even though in the 1.8 update of minecraft the rarity of clay was greatly decreased there still just isn’t enough of it in the world. You’re probably thinking I’m being stupid, I mean you get so much clay just from a single vein of it in a lake. But the fact is eventually if you plan to use bricks as a common building resource you will run out of clay. You will find yourself traveling for miles just to find another lake and get some more clay. Well it shouldn’t be like this, it’s certainly not in the real world. The ClaySoil mod by Fearitude will make it so that there is a chance of getting a piece of clay when mining grass, dirt or mycelium, because in real life clay is everywhere. There is traces of the stuff all throughout the dirt, you don’t just find it in huge patches underneath rivers and lakes. You will find clay under dirt almost anywhere.
That’s what the mod does, give a chance of getting clay the normal way. The way you do it in real life. Simple but very effective.

Thanks for this epic mod! I <3 to build brick houses and it annoys me how clay only spawns in water areas (lakes, rivers, oceans, ect.)
