Timber Mod for Minecraft 1.4.4

Wood is a crucial part of day to day minecraft life, wood is extremely useful whether it be for building, crafting or scaffolding. In fact, it’s probably the first thing you will attempt to harvest when spawning in a new singleplayer world or server. When jungle trees were implemented into minecraft, cutting wood became just a little more exhausting. When using the Timber mod for minecraft 1.4.2, cutting wood is made easier by a whole lot. By using a unique feature which allows stacks of wood to fall to your feet in seconds.

The timber mod for minecraft 1.4.4 allows you to simply gain more wood, easier and faster than usual. By cutting the lowest log of a tree, using an axe; instead of gaining one block of wood, the entire tree will be cut down and the wood will fall to your feet. In turn, this mod helps both new and old players. This mod was simply created so that players can get started on their world as soon as they spawn. When the mod developer created this mod, I assume that his original idea came from previous experiences that he/she had when cutting wood. Maybe it got too boring, tiring perhaps. Whatever the reason, I know that many players share the same problem.

As much as this mod can improve gameplay significantly, when cutting both small and large trees, your FPS rate will drop dramatically. Make sure you know your computer can handle the mod before you use it, or simply use common sense. If you know your computer will lag or possibly already does, be smart when cutting down large structures or big trees.

Also, the timber mod is not very compatible with other mods. This means that it’s a 50% chance (or lower), that the mod will not work with other installed mods. It is highly recommended that you either backup your minecraft before installing, or install the mod with a fresh/clean game. I find this problem quite frustrating and it makes quite an annoyance. However overall I think the mod itself is a great idea and works perfectly if you’re playing a vanilla game. I find it extremely helpful when starting a new world.

This mod is extremely useful when building or simply helpful for players who are interested in getting on with the game, and gaining the basic materials with ease. Personally I think this mod is a great idea, and is perfect for all minecrafters. The mod itself, in a way, makes gameplay much more realistic. Realistically, when cutting a tree down, it would fall down eventually, not float in mid air. I understand that it is a game, and not all of minecraft is realistic anyway. However, when using this mod it gives the feeling that the whole tree has fallen at its stump.

Usage

The mod is overall, relatively easy to use. Both the installation and feature usage is extremely easy. This is often what makes a mod great. Not all players are experienced with using new mods, and it helps sufficiently when the mod is created to be easily adapted to. The developer definitely put this idea into consideration and players should be thankful for this.

To use this mod, simply craft an axe of any material and find a tree. This first step should be relatively easy to follow. All you have to do next is cut the lowest log, the rest of the tree will be cut down with it, and you can move on. This mod is extremely useful when building or simply helpful for players who are interested in getting on with the game, and gaining the basic materials with ease.
