There are quite a few medieval/rpg texture packs out there. There is also quite a few comic/cartoony texture packs out there. Who would’ve thought to combine the two together? Well, SteelFeathers, creator of the Dragon Dance texture pack certainly has. The Dragon Dance texture pack is a work in progress effort to bring together two very poplar brads of texture packs. It takes the comic book and cartoon style of texture packs such as Shpax, and brings them together with the medieval RPG styles such as the popular John Smith texture pack. So far, all this has been done quite well.
What you see in this image is a fun and awesome style of texture making. It’s taking a modern comic style and sending it back hundreds of years to the graceful and rough styles that of the medieval times. To me, this pack is John Smith with brighter colours pumped into it. Each texture has a fun and funky sort of motion to it but doesn’t go to far in that direction, maintaining the same look as a rpg texture pack, just brighter. Your many buildings will look amazing in this pack, making them look bright and colourful but similar architecture to the people in medieval times.
The nature of the Dragon Dance texture pack is colourful and awesome looking, while still maintaining a certain seriousness. Buildings will look bright, but medieval. The nature will look wonderful, but ancient. I absolutely love how this pack is coming together. It’s almost an impossible thing making a medieval style texture pack look bright and full of life. I personally can’t wait to see it done.
